Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information VitalQi ("we", "us") collects when you use vitalqi.yueji.ai (the "Site") and purchase a VitalQi report, how that information is used, and the choices and rights you have. Please read it together with our Terms of Service, Refund Policy, and Health Disclaimer.

1. Who processes your data

VitalQi is the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at privacy@vitalqi.yueji.ai for any privacy question or request.

2. What we collect

a. Information you enter for your reading

Birth data — birth date, birth time (optional), and birth place. This is required to calculate your chart. Combined with a name you may optionally provide, birth data can be considered personal data; treat it as sensitive.
Questionnaire answers — your responses to the Layer 3 wellness interview (sleep, energy, temperature tolerance, and a two-question safety screen). These answers are health-adjacent personal preferences, not medical records.
Name — optional, used only to personalize your report.

b. Information processed by our payment provider

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe may collect your email address, payment instrument, and transaction data under its own privacy policy.

c. Technical information

We use browser local storage to keep your draft chart and purchased report accessible on your own device, and standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Where your report lives Your reading is computed in your browser. The report you purchase is stored locally on your device and on our order record only as an access reference. We do not maintain user accounts or a profile database.

3. How we use information

To calculate your chart, generate your report, and display it to you.
To process your order, verify payment, and handle refunds.
To respond to support, privacy, or refund requests.
In aggregate, de-identified form, to understand which sections readers find useful.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling beyond the report you requested.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

For visitors from the EEA/UK: we process birth data and questionnaire answers on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you give by submitting the form; payment data processing is necessary to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); and limited log data is processed for our legitimate interest in security and fraud prevention (Art. 6(1)(f)). You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your data (Section 7).

5. Retention

Report data on your device — persists until you delete it (Section 7) or clear your browser storage.
Order records — kept for the shorter of 24 months or as required by tax law, containing order reference, amount, and masked identifiers — not your full birth data.
Server logs — deleted within 30 days.

6. Sharing

We share data only with: (a) Stripe, as payment processor; (b) our hosting provider, to serve the Site; and (c) authorities where legally required. We never sell data to data brokers or advertisers.

7. Your rights and how to exercise them

Delete your data — open your report link and use "Delete my data", or email privacy@vitalqi.yueji.ai. Device-local data is erased immediately; order references are purged within 24 hours.
GDPR rights — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (Arts. 15–21), plus the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
CCPA/CPRA rights — know, delete, and correct personal information, with no discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

8. Children

VitalQi is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

If you access the Site from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on adequate safeguards (including Stripe's and our hosting provider's standard contractual clauses) where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes affecting existing orders will be announced more prominently.
